Asma Panamera takes your breath away

Asma - Asthma - get it?

Tuners of the Porsche Panamera have to tread very lightly in the styling department. The stock Panamera is already polarizing, so changes can have disastrous results.

The car you see here is the product of the Asma Design. Maybe the thought they could hide the car's awkward proportions by fitting as many "speed holes" as they could on the rear bumper. And then filling those holes with red LED lights.

Also, being in the market of modifying luxury cars, you would think they would have access to a better camera than the one on their cell phone.

Mansory Panamera

Another case of Mansory doing what it does best - turning expensive cars into automotive cheese graters slathered in ungodly colours. This time it set it's eyes on the Porsche Panamera, which needs no help to achieve fugly status.

While I don't think the kit looks overly horrible (helps to reduce it's height a bit with the larger mouth up front and the carbon fibre hood), the shade of blue could probably damage your retinas. Combined with the yellow inside, riding in this car could probably give you seizures.

Porsche Panamera

Yes, I'm talking down a Porsche. But I hoped that seeing a Panamera in person would change my opinion of how ungainly it looks. And although it looks better, sadly it's still ungainly in my eyes.

My beefs mainly centre around it's hindquarters although I do think it looks a bit too chunky up front for a Porsche). Starting with the side view, I really don't like how the roofline ends. I understand and respect the fact they want real people to fit inside, but you think it could have been achieve a bit more elegantly. Which could have been acheived changing the awkward appearance of the rear door windows - their bottom edge curves up in the rear portion, which exaggerates it's huge ass and the odd roofline. Plus the extra pillars in the rear windows muddy up the lines - I suppose the windows wouldn't go down much without them, but they don't look nice.

And then all the way out back you get about 5 feet of bumper with extremely high set tail lights. And the finicky detailing between them, with the random chrome strip and all the text. Had the taillights been set with their top edges in line with the chrome bar, I'd look so much better.

I also think it's look better with just "PORSCHE" or "Panamera S/Turbo" script on the rear. With both there it looks like a novel. I say bring back the old school full width tails with the "PORSCHE" text branded within, and then have the model name above.
